Tanushree Dutta for a Social cause!

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and loads of people come out to support this cause, which is the number one disease that effects women across the world. One celebrity who is definitely going to show solidarity for this cause is the Bengali Beauty Tanushree Dutta. She says, “I have seen a close friend who has survived this dreadful disease and since then I have been an avid supporter of this cause. I just don’t pick up one day in the whole month to promote awareness, but go all out and spread the word throughout the month. I usually sport the pink ribbon as well. I wish every woman gets access to the right diagnosis and treatment and doesn’t have to suffer”.

We support this beauty and hope more people come out to support this cause as well.

Sammir Dattani’s new obsession with Yoga

Yoga is the new buzz word in fitness today, All the B town actors are raving about power yoga starting from Kareena Kapoor to shilpa shetty. The latest to join the bandwagon is actor Sammir Dattani. We now have a new Bollywood brand ambassador spreading awareness about the benefits of Yoga.

Actor Sammir Dattani along with Shaina NC and members of the Malabar Hill Association, where the actor resides, planned a 5 day free yoga camp for all residents of the locality. “I think it’s a great initiative to spread awareness of the benefits of Yoga. I have been practicing yoga for 5 years now and without it my week doesn’t feel complete. I might miss my gym training but never yoga”, smiles the young actor who feels more clubs and associations should organize such camps for the benefit of its members and the society.

Food critic Rashmi Uday Singh and additional municipal commissioner R.A. Rajeev were also present to inaugurate the camp.

Perizaad Zorabian opting only for meaty roles!

Perizaad Zorabian, who will soon be seen in three “interesting” movies, and she makes it clear that she only wants to do “meaty” roles to impress her 10-month-old daughter. Perzaad reveals of having some interesting projects in her kitty but insisting on only meaty roles so that she impresses her daughter once she grows up.

The actress will soon be seen in N. Chandra’s “Breaking News”, a romantic comedy “Kabhi Up Kabhi Down” with Sanjay Suri and “Highway 203″ with Kay Kay Menon.

If I think about it at the moment, it’s going to take really long. At one point of time, when I was younger, I thought I wouldn’t get married ever. At least, now I am open to the idea. Then, too, marriage is still not in my itinerary for at least 7-8 years.

Of course, I remember her. I was in school and was six years old then. I was punished by my teacher for kissing her!

Kunal Khemu adopts a new look for upcoming movie

Actor Kunal Khemu has acquired a completely different look. The actor who sported a long mane in Kalyug, Dhol, Traffic Signal and Super Star, has finally chopped off his locks and will be seen sporting a new style for his forthcoming film.

Kunal tells us, “The change in the appearance is for my forthcoming venture 99 with Soha Ali. Hairstylist Suraj, son of Bharat & Dorris, has designed this new look for me.”

He further adds, “I needed this look to make me look mature and strong. Earlier I grew my hair hoping that it made me look mature. Now I can cut them short an play with the look because maturity has come with age. I don’t need such support to look older,” he laughs. Vidya Balan excited about working with Naseer in Ishkiyaan!

For her role in Vishal Bharadwaj’s Ishqiya, Vidya Balan is leaving no stone unturned. She is getting into the skin of her character by learning a special language and dialect for the film. And now here comes the clincher. A source on the sets reveals that Vidya’s been on cloud nine recently thanks to Ishiya again. Reason? The actress just finished a ten day work shop with her idol Naseeruddin Shah who also stars in the film along with Arshad Warsi.

A source close to the actress revealed, “The character that Vidya is playing in Ishqiya is a very complex character which is very difficult to enact. Vidya thought that the way to emote the character on screen was best learnt from Naseeruddin Shah because the veteran actor was a master at it. She was ecstatic to be discssing cinema with the master himself. Even though one hears they ended up discussing the film and cinema at length instead of doing a serious workshop, vidya still treasures the experience and is looking forward to working with Naseer in the film”.

Vidya also learnt to speak the UP dialect during those ten days. “Vidya was just not familiar with UP kind of Hindi. She mastered it by getting a teacher to teach her the exact dialect”.

Rekha was honored by IMPAA for her contribution to Bollywood

Rekha was honored by IMPAA for her contribution to Bollywood at Hotel Time and Again on Friday 26th September evening. She had come to attend the event in her usual dazzling self wearing one of her best sarees and leaving her hair open, fluttering many a male hearts even at this age!

The timeless beauty got an unwanted admirer, in the form of veteran filmmaker, Saawan Kumar. Now Saawan who has worked with Rekha in over three films - Pyar Ki Jeet (1987), Souten Ki Beti (1989) and Mother (1999) was expecting that Rekha would acknowledge his presence and speak fondly to him but she did none of that. Our source present at the event told us, “He kept trying his best to engage her in a conversation but she kept ignoring him royally even as the present press photographers kept clicking them both in this manner! The reason was unknown but perhaps he was insisting on making another film with her and she was not interested in talking about it anymore after saying no once.”

Saawan Kumar who looked visibly hurt after this spurning left the function without speaking much to others. But before leaving he was overheard speaking to someone that he didn’t expect such behaviour from Rekha especially after having had such a long healthy work relationship with her.

Kidnap hero Imran Khan loves challenges

Post his debut film, Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na’s stupendous success, Imran Khan is all set to unleash his mean side in action thriller Kidnap that releases. It will be the first time that the actor will be sharing screen space with Sanjay Dutt, “I was very scared of him. He has this tough macho image and I have action scenes with him. Sanjay Dutt realized that and approached me. He gave me a lot of support and often checked whether I had rehearsed my lines well or not” says Imran.

The actor says he loves challenges, “I get bored easily and often look for challenges. I need excitement. I will experiment and try and do roles of different genres. I know people will often compare me to Aamir Mamu and that makes me nervous. I am constant worried whether people will like my role or not. But yes at the same time it keeps me on my toes and also brings out the best in me” says the Jaane tu actor.

Veteran Actor Dilip Kumar admitted in ICU

Veteran actor Dilip Kumar has been admitted to a hospital in New Delhi due to complications resulting from urinary infection, but his condition was stable on Friday (26thSept.2008)

“His condition is stable and there is nothing to worry about,” said sources at Indraprasth Apollo Hospital where the actor was admitted on Thursday.

The 86-year-old actor, whose condition worsened on Thursday, was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit of the hospital where he is being treated for the infection.

The hospital sources said: “As his condition is improving, we will be shifting him out of ICU shortly.”

The actor is known for his landmark performances in films like “Devdas”, “Madhumati”, “Ganga Jamuna”, “Mughal-e-Azam”, “Shakti” and “Karma”

Shreyas Talpade Clicks in Bollywood

Wise men say that ‘talent run’s in a man’s blood and can’t be taught’, which is very true, especially in the case of our Marathi Manoos – Shreyas Talpade. Welcome to Sajjanpur has done great business at the box office, which is soon going to be followed by Golmaal, but the biggest surprise that Shreya’s audience will get is going to be towards the end of this year with the release of CLICK, a Sangeeth Sivan directorial venture, which is an all out horror film. On asking Sangeeth, how was it working with Shreyas, he said, “Shreyas has done a brilliant job in the film and this is going to be the biggest surprise for the audiences. We have given him a new image and not something he has done before in any of his movies. He is more modern and hip in the film and it is a very unconventional role. Shreyas has definitely risen as an actor. He is par excellence.” Hoping to see Shreyas light the screen soon and wish that the movie clicks with the audiences’ world over.

Zain Khan was opted out in the auditions of Taare Zameen Par

Not many know this but Zain Khan had given the audition for ‘Taare Zameen Par’ for the child’s role which later shifted in the hands of ‘Darsheel Safari’. Unfortunately he got opted out.

We tried to get more of this stuff from Zain himself, but unfortunately he was unavailable for comments, but we did have a word with his dad.

Zain’s dad did confirm that his son was opted out. We asked him the reason to which he replied, “They wanted someone less matured and more innocent. Zain was a bit over matured for that role.”

He added saying, “Moreover they wanted much of make-up and stuffs and I didn’t want Zain to apply so much of make-up. It could have proved harmful for his skin”

I want my man all dirty: Neha Dhupia

Your man will be from? Definitely not from the (film) industry.

Reason? Very simple. I don’t have a liking for industry men much. Secondly, I would not like to discuss films after coming back home from work.

Would he be a metrosexual man? No way! I detest metrosexual men right from my childhood.

Why so? Because, I just cannot stand men who pedicure and manicure. I remember telling my father why do these men not leave pedicure and manicure to women.

Do you mean to say that men should leave their fingers and feet unclean? No, not at all. I don’t mean them to remain dirty, but cleanliness not at the cost of being manly. They should not exhibit feminine qualities.

Riya Sen Gets Professional In Fever!

Riya Sen, who wasn’t otherwise quite professional with her work, has had a sudden fit of professionalism. Perhaps it has something to do with the big banners and directors she is working for.

She had been continuously shooting for Rituparno Ghosh’s Abohoman and a short film directed by students of Subhash Ghai’s film school. Hectic schedules took a toll over Riya’s health and she fell sick with 102 degree fever.

But she co-operated with the students because they had a limited budget and time constraints. She kept shooting despite her fever.
Now wouldn’t I call that a fit of professionalism. Of course I would!

Is Lara Dutta Seeing Dino Morea?

Lara Dutta, who is currently single after recently splitting from her boyfriend of nine-years Kelly Dorjee, has her eyes set on Dino Morea. The couple have been spotted visiting an art gallery and a cinema together recently along with a few other places. But Lara still doesn’t want to admit whats brewing between the two.

Says Lara, “I hang out with Dino, I’m not denying that. He lives two streets away and we go out together. But until I have a huge rock on my finger, I’m not married. I’ve come out of a really long relationship with Kelly Dorje and I’m not willing or ready to make any sort of commitment. I was in a committed live-in relationship with Kelly. Right now, I’m not looking for more of that. At the moment, I’m having fun because I’m young. Dino and I have known each other forever. We used to hang around in a group that also included Bipasha. However if a 10-carat rock is offered to me, we’ll see.”

Lol… Looks like the ex-Miss Universe has her priorities right in this matter.

Minissha Goes Places With Currents!

Not only the positive currents of fame and appreciation are taking this petite babe to places also she literally went places with the ocean currents.

During the shooting of Kidnap in Mauritius involved scenes where she was required to take a dip in the sea. During one such shot, so engrossed was Minissha in her mid-sea swim that she did not realize that the currents had pushed her far from where she was supposed to be.

The entire crew panicked as she wasn’t anywhere in the frame because with the underwater currents she was pushed about 2 kilometers away from the coastline and the water babe was blissfully unaware of the situation.

It took the crew of Kidnap a good ten minutes to finally spot the Minissha in the see before they finally sent speedboat to get her back her immediately!

Director Sanjay Gadhvi confirmed the news. “It was scary to say the least but all’s well that ends well!” he remarked.
Kidnap would be a grand Eid attraction as it is releasing on 1st Oct.

Amrita Rao Gets Into The Skin of Kamala!

Actresses only dream of working with a director like Shyam Benegal and Amrita has got lucky enough to bag a vital role in Benegal’s first comedy ever - Welcome To Sajjanpur.

I am super duper excited [laughs]. Being a part of a Shyam Benegal movie is a high point for me. He is somebody who is liked and revered by everyone in my community. In fact, not many people know that we belong to the same community and we speak the same language (Konkani). So, people like Girish Karnad, Ananth Nag and Shyam Benegal have always been looked up to.
Then, of course, I saw Zubeidaa when I was studying and it is one I still count among my favourite films. So when Shyamji called me for this role, I didn`t ask him any questions—I just said yes to the film. Because I so wanted to be on board under his direction.
“I play the character of Kamala in the film”, she explains. She is illiterate and cannot read or write. She plays a potter and it`s a very rustic, earthy, rural Indian character. Sajjanpur is her world, she cannot see beyond it because she has never ventured out,” says Amrita.

And Amrita has worked quite hard to get into the skin of her character. She dressed down as a simple village belle in ghagra cholis, her character had to look darker so she wore makeup that would make her look darker than she is, she also had to learn pottery because her character makes pottery for a living. And adding another feat to this long list is that Amrita along with other actors tried hard to learn the Bagelkhandi dialect of Hindi.

We hope this movie takes Amrita to new heights as an actress.

I Owe my Success to Cabbies & Autowalahs: Himesh

Himesh Reshammiya has decided to go a step further to keep up his hero status with the people who made him famous as an actor and singer - the cabbies and the auto rickshaw walas.

You may find autowalahs putting up posters of Himesh inside their autos and playing his music on their terrible music system all through your tragic journey.

Himesh Reshammiya’s next movie as a hero is releasing on October 17th and before that he plans to have a contest.

Says a source in T-Series, “Himesh has always had a huge fan following among the rickshaw and cab drivers. They love him, his songs and consider him to be their hero. For his debut film, Aap Kaa Surroor too, the singer-turned-actor had done his bit for his large fan following. He shot the climax scene with three rickshaw drivers. This time, Himesh has conceptualised an all-India event for the cabbie and auto drivers. The drivers will have to submit a Xerox of their ID with their entry forms.”

Himesh is also very excited about all this -

“I owe my success to all my cabbie and auto driver brothers all over India, and as tribute, and I want to do this Karzzzz show. I want to do something for each one who has been responsible for my success! The contest is a great way of reciprocating my feelings towards them. I don’t know who else is performing but I will be singing four songs from Karzzzz. It’s going to be a big event and the drivers will be given free passes to attend. We are still finalising the event details but it will definitely be held before the release.”
This way one day Himesh will end up like Mithun Chakraborty. Because if doesn’t stop singing in his own songs people will be too disgusted to see him in his films. And his fan following will be solely restricted to Auto rickshaw walas.

Aamir Khan Eyes Oscars Again

Aamir Khan eyes Oscars again as his directorial debut Taare Zameen Par will be India’s official entry for 81st Oscar Annual Academy Awards for the Best Foreign Film.

Film Federation of India (FFI) head Suneel Darshan confirmed the news of Taare Zameen Par being chosen as India’s entry for Oscars over eight other contenders namely - Ashutosh Gowarikar’s Jodhaa Akbar, Farhan Akhtar’s Rock On, Subhash Ghai’s Black and White, Nishikant Kamat’s Mumbai Meri Jaan, Neeraj Pandey’s A Wednesday, Telugu film Ghanyam, Marathi films Tingya and Valu.

The theme and plot of Taare Zameen Par is likely to impress the jury of the Oscars for being a very universal theme yet being so Indian. What is more impressive is the handling of such a sensitive subject by Aamir Khan, who was just making his directorial debut.

We really hope this movie brings an Oscar home… In that case, Aamir Khan will officially become the crowned Badshaah of Bollywood with all the International recognition.

Bollywood’s greatest heartthrob Shahrukh Khan who can make women go weak in their knees with that dimpled smile and romantic dialogues has a little gyan to give about lovers.

SRK plays a boring regular guy in his forthcoming flick Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi,

“I play this normal, regular guy. He is that sort of character whom people meet in everyday life; there is nothing fancy, attractive or interesting about him. This role therefore required me to keep things simple, whether it was the look, make up and even my demeanor,” he said.
“The most boring, normal guys are the best lovers,” hinted Shahrukh.
And he feels the same about himself in real life. He may have played larger than life characters but strictly calls himself a regular and boring guy, no wonder he is known as the greatest lovers of Bollywood.

Looks like now SRK has become quite a pro in the art of loving!

Reigning Queen of many hearts and Bollywood Kareena Kapoor turns 28 today. She was born on September 21, 1980 and is lovingly called Bebo by her family and fans. She mader her debut with Refugee opposite Abhishek Bachchan and also won the Filmfare best debut for it.

She arrived as a true actress on the scene with Chameli and Omkara and then went on to deliver a smashing hit performance as Geet in Jab We Met opposite Shahid Kapoor.

Bipasha caught in age trouble, says Ash has answer

More than once, Bipasha has flared up on being asked about her experience on working with younger actors like Ranbir Kapoor and Neil Nitin Mukesh in her films. She had been miffed to the extent of commenting, “People have been calling me the senior most actor in the film. I almost feel like Amitabh Bachchan now.” Although, the actress gave two hits this year in the form of ‘Race’ and ‘Bachna Ae Haseeno’, but the journalists have little to ask except the ‘age’ question.

But now the fiery babe has armed herself with a red-hot answer. From now on, her answer to such questions would be - “Why don’t they go and ask Aishwarya Rai how it feels to marry a guy younger to her by almost two years?”

Kareena Kapoor cries over birthday plans

Kareena Kapoor must celebrate her birthday without her family because she will be busy shooting for '3 Idiots', a film by Raju Hirani.

The success of her last film, 'Jab We Met', has made her one of the hottest stars in Bollywood but not without a price. The actress has complained over having to celebrate her 27th birthday without her mum, sister or niece, saying she has no time for family. She said she would sorely miss them on her birthday but is certain her boyfriend Saif Ali Khan will show up.

Kareena added that the only thing she wants for her birthday is for Saif to ask her to be in his next film, 'Agent Vinod'. But he will have to do more than ask – she claims Saif and his partner Dinesh Vijeyan will have to beg her to be part of the film because they ignored her for a part in their first project.

It sounds like Kareena is one pouty princess. For his own sake, Saif will clue in and get on his knees to beg the Bollywood beauty to star in his next film.

Riya Sen proves she is one tough girl

After recently completing Rituparno Ghosh's Abohoman the busy actress Riya Sen is currently shooting for a short film directed by budding students of Subhash Ghai's 'Whistling Woods Academy'.

The hectic filming schedules and constant traveling took a toll on Riya who fell sick with a 102 degree fever. But her empathy for the hard working student with a limited budget and time constraints motivated Riya to continue to shoot in Whistling Woods and Filmcity despite the fever.Riya finds this project very interesting and wouldn't want to let anyone down! Akshay Kumar to get Rs 71 crore for his next film?

King Akshay Kumar has reached where no actor has gone before. We hear that the actor has signed a whopping Rs 71 crore film deal with UTV.

Ram Mirchandani, founder & COO, UTV Rampage Motion Pictures, confirmed that their company had signed the Singh Is Kingg star. "But the remuneration figure being bandied about is far less," he said, adding warily, "The buzz is market speculation. And, we as a company, don't comment on market speculation."

Akshay too chose to play down the deal. "I am a stakeholder in the film that's yet to go on the floor. Who arrived at this figure? Market rates fluctuate. My price will be decided when the film is being sold. Who knows what the market will be like then?"

They consistently get a bad rap for always inviting publicity. But last night (September 18), Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt used their celebrity to help the less fortunate.

The peroxide pair were spotted hamming it up on the red carpet at the Beverly Hotel for the 7th Annual Operation Smile Gala.

Kareena exercise routine has been disrupted by Ladakh weather

It is not the shoots which are keeping Kareena Kapoor away from yoga. It’s actually the weather.
Kareena is presently in Ladakh shooting for Rajkumar Hirani’s “3 Idiots” with Madhavan and Aamir Khan. As it’s very cold up there, and the air is also thin, it has become almost impossible for Bebo to go through her yoga routine.
According to her yoga instructor Payal Gidwani an instructor normally travels with the actress when she flies around the world. In fact, the last time Kareena was in Ladakh to shoot for “Tashan” she had someone with her to practice, but she’s unable to do so this time.
Payal further says Kareena no longer weighs 49 kg, like she did during “Tashan”.
“I think Kareena looks her best right now. She is 53 kilos and doesn’t need to put on or lose any weight,” says Payal.
Kareena apparently eats anything and everything now, but never misses her exercise.

Abhishek Had A Close Escape from the Delhi Blast!

Abhishek Bachchan had a real close escape from yesterday’s Delhi Bomb Blasts. Amitabh Bachchan wrote on his blog that the traffic jam prevented Abhishek reaching Cannaught Place at the time of the blast. And he is safe today.

Bachchan writes, “Abhishek had left in the afternoon for New Delhi and was on his way to Connaught Place for a function he had to attend. Minutes away from there, the traffic became a snarl and he knew he would not make it in time so he asked to turn back. And the blast happened just then !!”
He further wrote how Abhishek felt, “Shattered and shocked he called to say he was alright. Close.”

Bachchan sympathises with the victims of terror strike and writes,”But what of those that bore the brunt. Innocent unaware and victims…We live in difficult times. What kind of an environment are we leaving behind for our next generation. Or do we not concern ourselves with that. We need peace and harmony. Such wonderful and easy words to type on a computer. So difficult to achieve.”
Indeed! Those who lost their lives in the blast, may their souls rest in peace. And those who lost their family members and closed ones, may they find strength to cope with the loss.

Was SRK trying to deport Katrina Kaif?

A new twist has been added to the much hyped Sallu-SRK spat, it seems that the fight took place when SRK pointed a finger towards Katrina Kaif for working illegally in India.

A source close to SRK says, “Shah Rukh Khan was sitting with his close friend Congress MP Rajiv Shukla and discussing Vishal Punjabi’s issue. Shah Rukh had been trying to take the help of all his friends to stop the deportation of Vishal. He was only telling Shukla that there are a lot of people working in the film industry without proper papers and he did not really mean only Katrina. Kamal Khan, a close friend of Salman Khan was sitting with cricketer Azharuddin, who overheard the conversation and probably reported it to Salman Khan.'’
When Salman got to know about this he asked Shukla about the issue, the source adds, “Salman Khan told Shukla Sir aap Jhoot mat bolo, even after Shukla repeatedly told him that Shah Rukh Khan has not said anything about Katrina’s deportation and that he was only discussing Vishal’s case.'’

Imran Khan Goes Aamir Khan Way!

Imran Khan is surely going his Mamu’s way. The lad trained hard in martial arts for his forthcoming film Kidnap.

According to sources in the crew of Kidnap, “Imran has a lot of fighting sequences in the film and most of it includes martial arts. He was assigned a special trainer for the same before leaving for the long schedule of Luck.
But as he got busy promoting Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na after it released to packed houses, he had little time on his hands to give it to his martial arts training sessions. Imran landed in Cape Town without proper training.
But the makers had already arranged a special trainer for him on his arrival. So Imran spent a lot of hours daily practicing martial arts to bring perfection for his action steps. He also worked out a lot on his physique for his role in this particular film.
It is learnt that the next schedule of Luck is going to take place in December but so fascinated has Imran been with his martial arts training that he wishes to continue with the same till the next schedule begins so that he is well prepared that time.”

Saif & Kareena give Delhi bomb blasts a near miss

Abhishek Bachchan is not only the lucky one to give the Delhi Bomb Blasts a miss, apparently hot couple Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor were also in Delhi during the blasts and were having lunch at a luxurious restaurant.

Saif says, “We are deeply hurt and very worried about what’s been happening all around us. No harm has come to us. We are fine. Even my shooting was to start from December 16 at various places and we hope to go on schedule as planned.”

Himesh Reshammiya in trouble

Himesh Reshammiya always gets away with his copied tunes ( remember the song Dillagi from Aashiq Banaya Apne) but this time he is not that lucky because the song Soniye Je, Tere Nal from his upcoming movie Karz has landed him in trouble.

Punjabi pop singer Kulwinder Kally claims that the song has been copied by Himesh from his album that was released almost four years back.

Kally says, “This song is being sung by Himesh but this is actually my song. It came out in my cassette ‘Sham Wali Gaddi’ which I had released around 4 years back. Himesh has stolen this song from my cassette. I demand the removal of this song from the film. I have sent them a legal notice and charged them with 5 crore.”
However Reshammiya denies the allegation, ” I have only sung this song. The songs, ‘Ek Haseena Thi’ and ‘Soniye Je Tere Nal’ are both songs of Mr Bhushan Kumar and we have permission from Mr Bhushan Kumar for them,” he says.
Well I am glad that Himesh has finally been caught.

SRK’s Billo Barber delayed

For all those SRK fans who were eagerly waiting for his home flick Billo Barber, there is a bad news for you, the movie has been delayed and would release next year.

The reason behind the delay is slow shoot and some songs that still needs to be shot. SRK is working with comedy king Priyadarshan for the first time in Billoo Barber. The movie was to be released in Diwali but has been postponed after it Tamil counterpart Kuselan bombed at the box-office.

Kuselan starring Rajnikanth, is being touted as the biggest flop of superstar Rajnikanth. So SRK is being cautious with his Hindi flick and wants some of the portions to from the movie to be re-shot.

Billoo Barber has three item songs, starring Kareena Kapoor, Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra.

Sallu miffed by SRK’s involvement in Yuvraaj

After yesterday’s news about SRK and Sallu , new news about them is pouring in, this time apparently Salman is miffed by SRK and wants the special effects company Red Chillies VFX owned by SRK to be removed from his next flick Yuvraaj.

A source associated with the movie reveals that Salman doesn’t want SRK’s involvement in his movie, “The deal was negotiated before his fall out with Shah Rukh. However, now that equations have changed between them, he wants Ghai to outsource the SFX work elsewhere. Sallu is adamant that the remaining portions be sourced to some other company. But it isn’t easy to start all over.”
However Subhash Ghai who is directing the movie denies the rumors, “Mukta Arts and Red Chillies are professional companies committed from day one to do the FX for Yuvraj and they are doing a fine job. Actually the Red Chillies technicians with Salman did the last-day shoot. I can assure you that Salman has never interfered in any of the departments throughout the making of Yuvraj.”

The deadly blast on 13th September rocked Delhi, and actor Shahid Kapoor has come out to appeal fellow Mumbaikars to be safe and alert.

To prevent further deadly terrorist attacks in Mumbai, the local police has come out with the ‘Alert Mumbaikar’ campaign. The campaign aims to make Mumbaikars alert and to report suspicious looking men and about abandoned objects immediately to the police through a dedicated helpline.

And who is better to create awareness among Mumbaikars than Shahid Kapoor!

Shahid says, “I have never found myself in trouble before. But now we need to be aware of our surroundings all the time.”
The campaign has been launched by the Mumbai Police after a survey conducted by them. Through the survey they got to know that 79% Mumbaikars consider Mumbai as the next hub for bomb blast and only 3% of people are alert enough to report something fishy.

They’ve been heating up the new season of “Gossip Girl” for the past few weeks, and last night Blake Lively and Taylor Momsen took some time out of their busy schedules to help out a charity.

The blonde beauties were spotted attending the 9th annual New Yorkers for Children Fall Gala, held at swanky Cipriani’s on 42nd street, lending their celebrity to a good cause.

Megan Fox Helps Shia LaBeouf Premiere “Eagle Eye”

He’s been making quite a name for himself, with box office hits like “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull” and “Transformers.” And last night Shia LaBeouf was hamming it up at the premiere of his latest film “Eagle Eye.”

Sporting a black suit/black tie/white button-up shirt combo, the “Constantine” stud chatted and laughed with his “Transformers” co-star Megan Fox as the paparazzi lit up the night with a flurry of flashes. But they weren’t the only big names that showed up at the Mann’s Chinese Theatre for the big event.

Stars like Rosario Dawson, Billy Bob Thornton, Michael Chiklis, Kristin Cavallari, and “Eagle Eye” star Michelle Monaghan all walked the red carpet on their way into the screening.

Speaking of Miss Monaghan, she recently told press how much she enjoyed working with LaBeouf on the film. “He is amazing. He’s incredibly dedicated. That’s the great thing about him — he’s so young, he’s only 21. Certainly it’s a testament to him having acted for years, but he really strives to make every shot better, and if it’s something that’s not working right, he’s right in there trying to fix it.”

She added, “He’s the only co-star that I’ve ever worked with that actually turns up to work earlier than his call time. His call time is at 5:30, he’s there at 5:15. It makes me look bad.”

'Jaane Tu...' got a superstar opening: Aamir

Light college drama "Jaane Tu...Ya Jaane Na" won the hearts of audiences on the day of its release and Aamir Khan, whose nephew Imran debuted in the film, says it got an opening only a superstar's movie would get.

"'Jaane Tu...' got a response as strong as 'Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak' (Aamir's debut film). It got an opening which only Shah Rukh (Khan) or Hrithik's films get," Aamir, who is also a co-producer of the film, said at a press conference here late Friday.

Aamir, who was accompanied by Imran, actress Genelia D'Souza and director Abbas Tyrewala, said the movie's fresh look and young star cast had made it popular.

Asked about his creative contribution towards "Jaane Tu...", he asserted that Abbas was the main creative force behind the movie.

"The only thing I did for the film is that when Abbas brought me the script I said it is a great script. Go with it," Aamir said.

But Abbas reacted quickly and said: "Aamir is being too humble. He gave me various suggestions from time to time which were very useful to me."

Audiences just loved the film and adored Imran, who is touted as the new chocolate boy on the block.

"The first show of 'Jaane Tu...' was housefull," said Sachin Shah, manager, KT Multiplex in suburban Mumbai.

Said Tenzin, a student: "It is a peppy young movie, a lot of fun, is very fast and doesn't drag at all. You don't realise how it gets over. Imran is adorable."

But Imran still has his head firmly on his shoulders and said: "The audience has a lot of expectations from me as I am a star's nephew. So there is huge pressure on me. I'll do my best to live up to the expectations of my fans."

According to trade analyst Taran Adarsh, the film got an overwhelming response at the box office on its first day.

"The film got a flying start, collecting more than 80 percent in morning shows and was 100 percent in noon shows across the country. It's one of the biggest starts of this year. The reports are very good and the film is expected to enjoy a strong, meritorious run in days to come," Adarsh said.

Govinda not amused by constant comparison with Amitabh

Actor Govinda is on the edge of his patience these days, perturbed by constant comparisons with Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachchan.

"I'm Amit-ji's biggest fan. And that's why these comparisons are becoming a bit too much for me to digest," Govinda told IANS.

Though he's not willing to talk about it openly, Govinda is also not amused by the constant reference to him in the context of the "Govinda Govinda" chant in Ram Gopal Varma's "Sarkar" and its sequel "Sarkar Raj".

At a recent awards function Govinda's picture was flashed on stage while the "Sarkar Raj" theme raged on.

"I won't say anything more," says Govinda diplomatically. "But I'll say this. God bless all those who are using my name for their own reasons. I'll also say this. Don't try the patience of a patient man."

"My will power is about to give way. Now I've reached a stage where I'll react even if one hair on my head is tampered with."

The final straw was a reality show where choreographer Saroj Khan praised Govinda to the skies... but relatively speaking.

Sighs Govinda: "I'm very grateful to Saroj-ji for all the wonderful things she has said about me. I respect her a lot. My daughter Narmada has been training in dance with Saroj-ji."

"In fact she'll be directing a film for me soon. I know she meant well. But why am I being constantly compared with Amit-ji? 'Main to naukar hoon' (I am just a servant). He's the true king of the entertainment industry. I played the 'naam ka' (namesake) Raja Babu. He's the true Raja Babu."

Ranvir Shorey, Konkona Sen engaged?

Rumours are rife that Ranvir Shorey and Konkona Sen-Sharma are as engaged to one another as can be, but neither party is willing to talk about it.

When Ranvir was asked why the secrecy, he said: "It's a personal choice. We like to keep our personal life away from the limelight. All I can say is I'm very content with my life and career."

Ranvir would much rather talk about his film with US-based Indian filmmaker Mira Nair. Titled "How Can It Be", it also has Konkona. They've worked together before in a wife-swapping film, "Mixed Doubles", and Madhur Bhandarkar's "Traffic Signal".

"But this project is very special. It is a short film - part of a series on human rights made by the likes of Jane Campion, Gus Van Sant and Jim Wenders. Mira's film is about women's emancipation and we shot it in New York. Konkona plays the central character, but my role is no less pivotal," Ranvir told IANS.

The role went to Ranvir after Mira's favourite Irrfan Khan turned it down.

"So I believe," laughed Ranvir. "I think he refused it. But Mira says I was always her first choice. In fact, I met Irrfan in New York when we shot with Mira. He was doing another short film with Mira co-starring Natalie Portman."

Konkona was all but signed to play Tabu's role in Mira Nair's "The Namesake". She had opted out because the dates clashed with her mother Aparna Sen's "17 Park Avenue".

Ranvir says working with Konkona is an easy experience.

"It's an advantage to work with a friend. You can speak your mind freely without the fear of offending the other party."

But it wasn't same with his "Ugly Aur Pagli" co-star Mallika Sherawat.

"There were a couple of times when we had ugly run-ins. But overall she has been very nice to me. Once, when I was ill, she got me food. Mallika is the star of 'Ugly Aur Pagli'. Not me."

Producer Shilpa Shetty plans to make only masala movies

Actress-turned-producer Shilpa Shetty says her company S2 Productions will concentrate purely on making commercial movies.

"The Indian audience still does not accept socially relevant movies and prefers commercial cinema which provides light entertainment," said Shilpa, who has become an international celebrity after her historic win on Britain's reality show "Big Brother" in 2007.

"I am not here to incur losses by making socially relevant movies. Our company will concentrate purely on commercial cinema and I have no intention of making socially relevant movies," Shilpa told IANS in an interview.

Barring a few exceptions like "Taare Zameen Par", the audience has rejected most socially relevant movies, she said.

"How many socially relevant movies were successful? You can count them. I admit 'Taare Zameen Par' worked despite being a socially relevant movie, but it was an exception. I can tell you about many movies which people don't even know the name of," said Shilpa who was appreciated for her serious performance in Anuraag Basu's "Life... in a Metro".

"My movie 'Phir Milenge', which was on a sensitive issue like AIDS, did not even get noticed. Neither was it commercially successful nor did it win any award. It is really disappointing."

The actress, along with Formula One Racing driver Lewis Hamilton, received the Global Diversity Award in Britain for their contribution to the "diversity agenda".

Shilpa is also the youngest celebrity to receive the honorary doctorate degree by Britain's Leeds Metropolitan University - with Amitabh Bachchan, Yash Chopra and Shabana Azmi being some of the other recipients.

"The head of the university watched the show ('Big Brother') every day. He told everyone to watch it for educational purposes. He wanted them to see how a person deals with other people in adverse situations."

About her experience on the show, Shilpa said she never knew that she would have such a tough time. "The 14 weeks of complete isolation from the outside world was a rare experience that I would never forget in my life.

"But the moment I came out it was a different world all together. Everyone in Britain knew who Shilpa Shetty was. I had become an international celebrity. I was there in every television channel and in the headline of every newspaper. It was a new beginning for me."

However, the actress was hurt by the Indian media's attitude towards her during that period.

"What hurt me most is the fact when I was appreciated by the people there, my own Indian press was putting me down."

What peps her up is the fact that her win in the reality show was a great step towards mitigating racial discrimination.

"It bridged the gap between black and white. After my win, many blacks who have not been able to express themselves got the courage to fight for their rights. It was not just a show, it was a mass awakening against racism."

Koena gets slim toned physique for boy-bashing role

While size zero may be the latest fad in Bollywood, Keona Mitra is assiduously cultivating a fat-free athletic physique for her kick-ass role in the international film "Karna".

"With the help of my trainer Channel Pereira I've lost so much weight. I'm down to 15 percent body fat. The rest is all muscles. This is all for my kick-ass boy-bashing role in 'Karna'. Unfortunately Bollywood goes ga-ga over thin not fit bodies," Koena Told IANS.

She has to train especially hard since she will be the only woman in this all-male actioner.

"In Bollywood they think if a leading lady can do one free-falling kick she's achieved the unthinkable. In 'Karna' I've to do the kind of action only male actors have been seen doing in the movies."

Not only that, Koena has to acquire another skill for "Karna".

"I've to get a British accent and fast. Yes, they've asked me to speak in my own voice and in British accent because the movie will be in sync sound. I've to learn four different types of British dialects," said the actress.

The film will be shot in six countries. But mainly in Hong Kong and China.

Koena thinks Bollywood isn't ready for boy-bashing chick flicks.

"I recently shot three promos for the film. When I saw myself fighting aliens I got really excited. Our country isn't ready for a real chick flick like 'Charlie's Angels' and 'Lara Croft'.

"I think I'll be the first Indian actress to go out there and kick ass. And I don't have to become a size 0 to look sexy," she chuckles.

The Omen of New Generation' - After the super success of Jannat, Bhatt Camp will once again outbreak this winters, when they release their most awaited and biggest project till date. But this time Vishesh Films have joined hands with Sony BMG as Producers to make this project the most memorable one, to be known as RAAZ -THE MYSTERY CONTINUES. The film will tend to challenge one’s beliefs about the supernatural phenomenon. The film has element of Romanticized thriller and is being slated as the biggest project ever by the Bhatts in hands with Sony BMG.

Sony BMG has already been success partners with Vishesh Films in ousted results for Jannat, as the music of Jannat which is a huge success all over, was on Sony BMG. Considering this, Sony BMG have come with not only clinching deal once again to own music rights of Vishesh Films’ next venture, but this time they are also the Producers of the film RAAZ- THE MYSTERY CONTINUES.

The film is very much on floor and would be ready to release somewhere around November-December this year. Vishesh Films who has always made a deep emotional connection with audiences, has high hopes with this huge project as this something very different that hasn’t come up as yet as a theme. RAAZ-THE MYSTERY CONTINUES has a strong concept and story which would be well told and will be a never felt before experience is what the Sony BMG confident about.

The music of the film is undoubtedly going to be its key to success as music in Vishesh Films’ each movie till date has been a nationwide rage and when the top most music company of the nation Sony BMG comes together, for sure the music has to hit the right notes, creating a music mania all over.
